Responsibilities
  • Project Leadership: Provide strong leadership and direction to the engineering project team, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented work environment.
  • Strategic Planning & Execution: Develop comprehensive project plans that define scope, schedule, budget, resources, and milestones. Utilize project management methodologies to effectively track progress and ensure project deliverables are met.
  • Technical Expertise: Maintain a solid understanding of engineering principles and project management best practices. While not an expert in every engineering discipline, you should be able to effectively communicate with and guide a team of specialists.
  • Team Management: Lead, motivate, and mentor a team of engineers, technicians, and other specialists from various disciplines. Foster open communication and collaboration to ensure everyone is aligned with project goals.
  • Budget Management: Own the project budget, proactively identifying cost-saving opportunities and managing resources efficiently. Negotiate with vendors and suppliers to secure the best value.
  • Risk Management: Proactively identify and mitigate potential risks that could impact the project schedule, budget, or quality. Develop contingency plans to address unforeseen circumstances and ensure project success.
  • Vendor Focus: Build and maintain strong relationships with vendorss, keeping them informed of progress, managing expectations, and addressing concerns throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Communication & Reporting: Communicate project status, challenges, and risks clearly and concisely to stakeholders, including clients, senior management, and team members. Prepare reports to keep everyone informed.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure the project adheres to all quality standards and specifications. Work with quality control teams to identify and address any quality issues.
Qualification
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field (e.g., Project Management) required.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in engineering project management.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and delivering complex engineering projects on time, within budget, and to client satisfaction.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Proficient in project management software tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize effectively, and manage time efficiently.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and make critical decisions under pressure.
Preferred Qualification
  • Proven ability to manage and mitigate project risks.
